Darren Williamson – Registered clinical counsellor

There are many places in life where you can feel “stuck.” Problems with jobs, family or relationships can sometimes be difficult to navigate, and change can feel impossible. Whether you feel like you’re falling into the same traps, or cannot escape from thought patterns that are limiting you, it is common for people to need help making the changes they know need to happen.
Looking into therapy as an option is a sign that you are not only looking for something to change, you are ready for it.
Treatment Approach
I do not believe anybody’s fate is set in stone. It is common to hear people refer to themselves or their situation in absolutes “I will always ___” or “I can never ___.”
Instead of using lots of techniques, our therapy will be exploration that will allow you to understand your own patterns. Where are they coming from? We’ll look at why you feel stuck and what needs to change, both in the environment and also in yourself. My goal is to help you handle life better and become the person you want to be.
“It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life—daily and hourly. Our answer must consist… in right action and in right conduct.
“Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual.”
– Viktor E. Frankl, Man’s Search for Meaning
